Patricia Guerrero
Patricia Guerrero took her first dancing lessons at her mother’s studio when she was only three years old and continued her education with masters such as La Presy, Juan Andrés Maya, Manuel Liñán, Manolete, Luis de Luis, Mercedes Ruiz, Stella Arauzo, Rafaela Carrasco, Belén Maya, Juana Amaya, Eva La Yerbabuena and many others. She gained first experience on stage when she was very young performing in her borough El Albayzin.
Among her most important performances there are two which are particularly outstanding: Her participation in “La Peña de la Platería” with only eight years and her passionate and convincing performance in “El Homenaje a Benítez Carrasco” in the Isabel La Católica Theatre with only ten years.
She also took part in the Albayzin Flamenco Festival at this young age, performing with stars such as Juana Amaya. In 2004 when she was 14 she completed her education at the Centre of Scenic Studies of Mario Maya, having various entries at the Manuel de Falla Theatre as well as the “Peña de la Platería”. In 2005 she won the first prize in the Flamenco Contest of Úbrique.
In June 2006 Patricia took part in the Biennial of Young Flamencos in Seville. Shortly later she performed at the 55th International Music and Dance Festival in Granada. During the years 2006 and 2007 she was a member of the company of Mario Maya presenting the show “El Diálogo del Amargo” on stage of many important Spanish theatres. At the same time she worked at the Tablao Flamenco Albayzín and continued to act at festivals and flamenco societies. Furthermore she started giving courses for advanced dancers at the flamenco academy of Carmen de las Cuevas.
In 2007 Patricia travelled to the Czech Republic where she participated in the Iberian Festival. Later that year she performed at the Asilah Cultural Festival in Morocco and danced at the Malaga Biennial Festival. Moreover she won the award “Desplante Minero 2007”.
Patricia participated in the most prestigious festivals of 2008 such as the “Festival de la Caja Madrid” and the “Jerez Festival”. Moreover she gave many performances abroad, for instance at a flamenco festivals in the Arab Emirates and Luxemburg.
