    Antonio Rey

    Antonio Rey Navas, born in 1981 in Madrid in a family of artists, is one of the most acclaimed names in the current flamenco music scene. Winner of National Guitar Prize 2010.
     
    He has recently recorded his first album with the label EMI Music Spain, “Colores de fuego”, with the collaboration of Estrella Morente, Vicente Amigo, Josemi Carmona and Arcángel.
    His artistic career begins when he was ten years old in tablaos in México, accompanied by his father, Tony King. During the following years, Antonio, a teenager, worked his first Japan tour with Yoko Komatsubara. At eighteen he joins Antonio Canales company, and it is then that he starts to be successfully known in Spain, composing and accompanying the leading artists of the dance companies of Antonio Canales, Joaquín Cortés, Juan de Juan, Rafael Amargo and Andrés Marín,etc… At that time he is commissioned the composition of the show “Gallo de Pelea” (“Fighting Cock”) for the New Spanish Ballet.
     
    In 2003 he won first prize in the acclaimed guitar festival Minas de La Unión (Murcia, Spain), as well as in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat Contest (Barcelona, Spain). From that moment on, he begins to offer numerous guitar concerts, founding his own group that tours the stages of Spain and Europe. In 2008 he wins the first prize getting at the Murcia Flamenco Guitar (Niño Ricardo).
     
    He currently resides in Jerez de la Frontera, the birthplace of the current flamenco, accompanying world renowned dancers as Farruquito, Farruco and Manuela Carrasco, among others. His debut album “A Través de Tí(“Through You”) benefits from the colaboration of great artists such as Farruquito, Farruco, Guadiana, Ramon Porrina, and others.
